The Surrey DPAC AGM was postponed by majority vote at our last meeting back in May and will be held at 7 pm on September 27, 2020, online via Zoom.

Please note that although all parents are welcome to attend the meeting, only one vote will be permitted for each registered PAC as per our Constitution and Bylaws.  Check to see if your PAC is registered here.

If your PAC has voted in a new executive for 2023/24, please register your new executive with DPAC here.

The meeting is open to any Surrey District parent whether they are on a PAC executive or not, whether their PAC is registered with Surrey DPAC or not.

The District 36 Parent Advisory Council, known as the Surrey DPAC, is a registered non-profit society formed in 1978 to represent the interests of Surrey parents in the public education system.

Surrey DPAC is about parents helping parents learn more about our education system and how they can contribute to it.

The Surrey DPAC…

  • encourages co-operation and communication among all the participants in the education system
  • provides parents with a forum for discussion of issues affecting the health, welfare and education of our children
  • advises the Surrey School District of parents’ views on educational issues
  • assists parents in forming Parent Advisory Councils
  • informs parents of their rights in the education process, and assists them in obtaining information at all levels
  • participates in the provincial parent voice through the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils

  • Monthly Meetings
  • Workshops and discussion forums
  • Resources and information on current educational issues, trends and legislative changes
  • Representation on Surrey School District committees

Canada Learning Bond Project: $ for Education

10 Walmart gift cards worth $50 each will be drawn for those who attend the presentation and fill in a short survey after the event.

 

Are you missing out on free money for your children’s education? Surrey DPAC is hosting an info session about the Canada Learning Bond (CLB) and British Columbia Training and Educations Savings Grant (BCTESG).

The CLB offers up to $2,000 for children born Jan 1, 2004 or later, with a family household net income of $48,535 or less.

The BCTESG offers $1,200 for all children between 6 and 9 years old.
