Join us Feb 28th, 2026 for the Surrey DPAC Training Conference: Connect the Dots

Are you a member of your school’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC) executive? Do you want to strengthen your leadership skills, connect with like-minded parents, and gain valuable insights from district experts?

We’re thrilled to invite you to “Connect the Dots: Tools for Confident PAC Leadership” a one-day conference designed to empower PACs and help build thriving school communities.

Why Attend?

This conference is packed with opportunities to learn, connect and grow. Whether you’re a seasoned PAC leader or new to the role, you’ll leave equipped with practical skills and new connections to make your PAC even stronger.

We had a great response from our first training day last year and we’ve heard from many PAC members how much they miss gathering face-to-face. This conference is the perfect opportunity to reconnect, share experiences and learn from each other in a supportive and energizing environment.

Here’s what you can expect:

Training Sessions: Your choice of two sessions from three interactive workshops:

    • From Snooze to Smooth: How to Run Great PAC meetings

PAC meetings don’t have to feel long or unproductive. This session will give you practical strategies to make your meetings more efficient, engaging, and inclusive. Learn how to set clear agendas, use time wisely, keep discussions on track, and encourage meaningful participation.

Building Inclusion: Setting Up a PAC Inclusion Committee

How can PACs ensure every family feels welcome and represented? This session explores how to create an Inclusion Committee that supports equity and belonging in your school community. We’ll look at practical steps to start one, ways to include diverse voices, and strategies to remove barriers so more parents and caregivers can participate.

Bylaws, Policies, and Why They Matter

Do you know the difference between your PAC’s bylaws and its policies? This session will break it down in simple terms. Learn how policies can give your PAC flexibility, clarity, and consistency without constantly rewriting bylaws, and discover why having both is key to smoother operations.

Networking Opportunities: Connect with PAC members from across the district and share ideas.

Door Prizes & Lunch: Enjoy a catered meal, coffee, snacks and the chance to win great prizes!
