DPAC Board Nomination Form

The following form is to be used for nominations for both the AGM and for putting your name forward to fill in a vacant position.

 

For elections at Annual General Meeting (AGM)

One of the main items of business at the Surrey DPAC Annual General Meeting (AGM) is to elect the Surrey DPAC Board of Directors for the next school year. The AGM is held every year on the fourth(4th) Wednesday in May.

If you are interested in putting your name forward  to help strengthen PACs and empower parents, please review the following information.

Nominations will be required by midnight on the third (3rd) Wednesday in May.

Information on prospective Directors will be made available on the DPAC website and Facebook page on the following Monday.

For vacant positions:

Please fill out the form and submit minimum 2 weeks before the next General Meeting along with a letter or email from your school PAC supporting your nomination. If submitting this form for a vacant position, please only select from the positions available here.

Expectations:

  • Directors will be able to participate electronically via chat/emails AND in person.
  • There will be a minimum of two meetings per month, which Directors are expected to attend. General meetings are held on the fourth(4th) Wednesday of every months(except December and March), and DPAC Board meetings are currently held on the first(1st) Wednesday of every month(except December and March).
  • Directors should be able to participate in online discussions regularly between meetings (chat/email).
  • Prospective Directors must read and agree to both the Code of Conduct and Responsibility and Legal Liability documents.
  • No employee of Surrey School District 36 can hold office as a Director.
  • Upon election, Directors will need to read and become familiar with DPAC’s Constitution and Bylaws (C&B).

Your school PAC Executive will also need to confirm that they support your nomination by emailing surreydpac@gmail.com. A simple email from your executive confirming that you are a parent of a Surrey School that is seeking a position with Surrey DPAC.

Canada Learning Bond Project: $ for Education

10 Walmart gift cards worth $50 each will be drawn for those who attend the presentation and fill in a short survey after the event.

 

Are you missing out on free money for your children’s education? Surrey DPAC is hosting an info session about the Canada Learning Bond (CLB) and British Columbia Training and Educations Savings Grant (BCTESG).

The CLB offers up to $2,000 for children born Jan 1, 2004 or later, with a family household net income of $48,535 or less.

The BCTESG offers $1,200 for all children between 6 and 9 years old.
